Kevin: Really early on, what I found is in my kind of work and study practices, it was really beneficial for me to sort of carve out, you know, feelings of anxiety and frustration, or worrying about the future and stay focused in my space that I was in. He says there was a lot of relearning he had to do.īen: Part of which was just learning how he could do work in the right way. Eventually, in his mid-to-late twenties, he dove back into school. Nora: Kevin was a curious person and a hard worker, though. And it was always this thing: Well, what's wrong with you? How can you be more like other people and stop being like you?īen: Kevin would eventually be diagnosed with ADHD, which was listed as the source of his academic challenges. And that kind of just pursued me through my life.
And, you know, as a kid, I got all these, you know, diagnoses about what was wrong with me. I was a high school dropout, and I got kicked out over and over again. Kevin: I had a really kind of atypical path through school.
